Al Khor’s Kuwaiti defender Sultan Al Enezi played a major part in his sides 2-0 win over Al Kharaitiyat. The summer signing produced a towering header for Khor’s opening goal, along with an assured performance in defense that meant that Jean Fernandez’s side came away with all three points. Al Enezi has formed a good partnership with Wellington Souza in recent weeks, and that is the key reason that Khor have only conceded once in three QSL games.  Khor will be aiming to add to their three game unbeaten sequence when they take on Al Ahli in round 18.

Al Sailiya’s January signing Temurkhuja Abdukholiqov came up with the goods for his new side, scoring on his debut to give the Peregrines a 1-0 over Umm Salal on Friday evening. The striker signed from Lokomotiv Tashkent, seems to have made an immediate impact in this his first taste of football in Qatar. Sailiya coach Sami Trabelsi will be hoping the Uzbek striker can find the back of the net again when Sailiya take on a struggling Al Shahania side next time out.

Qatari veteran Meshall Abdullah put in a captain’s performance for his Al Ahli side, who claimed derby bragging rights over Al Arabi with a 4-2 win. A perfectly timed header and an emphatically taken penalty aided the Brigadiers in securing a league double over local foes Arabi. The win eased Ahli coach Yusef Adam’s relegation fears, as the side pushed up into sixth place in the QSL standings.

Slovakian international Vladimir Weiss produced a moment of magic to seal Al Gharafa’s 3-0 win over Al Shahania. Picking a long ball up from a goal kick, the speedy winger preceded the dribble up the wing, cutting inside before slamming the ball into the net leaving a host of beaten Shahania players in his wake.  It was Weiss’s tenth goal of the season for his side, and now with the long term loss of Krisztián Németh Gharafa head coach Pedro Caixina will be hoping that Weiss can step up for his side.

Al Sadd striker Hamza Sanhaji completes our list of players this week, with his important contributions in Al Sadd’s comprehensive 6-1 win over Muaither. The Qatar youth international has returned to the club after a spell with El Jaish, and the youngster grabbed a brace and an assist to give his starting chances a boost no end. The striker was deadly in front of goal admittedly against a struggling Muaither outfit. Hamza will be targeting a starting place when Al Sadd takes on Al Gharafa in the stand out match of round 18.
