QSL sides Al Wakrah and Al Shahania came together on Tuesday evening in a friendly match, ahead of the start of the QSL season on the 15th of September.The match was seen as ideal preparation for the two sides ahead of them heading to their training camps in Turkey and Germany respectively. The tie ended in a 1-1 draw and saw both managers use a host of players from their squads.
Wakrah used the tie as final preparation for their camp. The Blue Waves squad is set to head to Turkey on Friday afternoon and is set to play four matches against Turkish opposition. Mauricio Larriera’s side will stay till the 28th of August before returning to Qatar ahead of the new QSL season.
In other news, former Al Wakrah striker Sasha has signed a one year deal with UAE Arabian Gulf League side Emirates. The prolific Argentine striker will be a big loss for the Blue Waves this term, and the club will now search for a suitable replacement.
