
The Algerian attacker arrived at Al Sadd after the Wolves came to an agreement with Romanian Steaua Bucharest for a one-year loan deal, with an option to buy. Hamroun signed the contract during the ceremony and will now wear the number five jersey for Sadd.
Speaking at the press conference, Turki Al-Ali said: “Today we announce the signing of a great player – Jugurtha Hamroun; he will be a huge addition to the team. He has had many accomplishments and he will help us greatly in the upcoming season.”
Meanwhile, Head of Football Mohammed Ghanem Al-Ali spoke highly of the abilities of the new signing. He said: “He is a big player and we have been following him for a while. He has lots of experience which will have a great effect on the Al-Sadd players. We expect an excellent level of performance from him in the new season.”
He added: “Signing Hamroun comes as part of Al-Sadd’s strategy to bring in experienced players who will help the team, especially as the team is looking to reach the podium and the fans expect a lot from us.”
Mohammed Ghanem concluded by saying: “We always seek the best and our goal is to keep moving on the road of victories. We hope Hamroun will be a good addition and support for the team, especially in Asia, where Al-Sadd is seeking to win the title for the third time in its history.”
Al Sadd are set to kick off their QSL season with a home tie against Al Kharaitiyat on Friday the 16th of September.
