Al Arabi take on Al Kharaitiyat on Saturday afternoon, the Dream Team fell to a 4-3 defeat to El Jaish last time out and will be aiming to get back to winning ways against a in-form Al Kharaitiyat. Arabi assistant coach Edison Agguire spoke to the media ahead of the match. 

Opening up the press conference Agguire noted that he expected a tough challenge in Al Kharaitiyat. “I think it will be a difficult game, another challenge for this team. This is a critical match for us, and we need to change our situation in the league against Al Kharaitiyat.”

Al Arabi’s opponents have improved in recent weeks, and the Brazilian coach was eager to note that his side has done their homework on the Thunders. “We have to take care with Al Kharaitiyat they have improved in recent weeks, we have looked over their recent games and have pinpointed some elements of how they will play. Our aim will be looking to exploit these weaknesses on Saturday.”

“The players showed plenty of fighting spirit against El Jaish. We had a difficult week as a club in picking the team, however responsibility has to fall to me in the fact that we lost in the last minute” noted the Brazilian coach when asked about his sides dramatic 4-3 defeat to El Jaish last time out. 

Ending the press conference Aguire has a word about the new incoming coach to the club. “Oswaldo Oliveira has arrived at the club as you all know, he will aid the club and hopefully he can help Al Arabi get out of the club out of trouble and push up further in the league.” 



As for Al Kharaitiyat they head into the match on a high following a big 2-1 win over relegation rivals Al Wakrah. The thunders are currently out of the QSL relegation zone and will looking for a posative result against Al Arabi. Ahmad Al-Ajlani spoke to the media ahead of the match.

Al-Ajlani opened up the press conference praising the preformances of the team “We are improving from match to week, this game against Al Arabi is important for us .We are targeting back to back wins. I know, it won’t be easy but i am proud of how my players have reacted in recent weeks.”

“We are focusing on the whole Al Arabi side they can all cause my side problems. I am expecting a reaction from Al Arabi after the defeat to El Jaish. They played well and lost at the very last minute, so we have to be at full concentration for this game. Al Arabi have a new coach, and he is only been with the club for 24 hours so we have to also be mindful of the reaction of the Arabi players” added the Tunisian coach. 

Kharaitiyat’s form has improved in recent weeks, and Al-Ajlani is targeting another win to ensure his side are safe for the time being. “We have pulled out of the relegation zone, but we know that another win will push us into mid-table and further away from these places in the league.” 

Al-Ajlani  ended the press conference his professional contingent of players in the side. “The return of Anwar Diba has boosted our side. He has been well supported by the squad and they are happy for him in the squad. Whilst Domingos has been playing well, and Sanzhar Tursunov has shown promise. We will need them to be at their best if we are to avoid relegation.”
