Muaither take on Al Shahania in round 15 of the Qatar Stars league. The match will take place on Sunday evening at the Al Gharafa stadium.

Muaither have suffered seven straight defeats and will be looking to get the crucial three points against fellow newcomers Al Shahania. The Stallions are bottom of the table with nine points from fourteen games.

Philip Birrol, the head coach of Muaither, has revenge on his mind against Shahania, “It will be a battle tomorrow. It’s a very important match for us and we have to win if we want to stay in the league. We lost the first match by 1-0 and now this match will be revenge for us.”

“We know Fahad Khalfan is very fast and we need to deal with that. Shahania changed their coach and brought in some new players.  Tactically they changed in the last match. They are strong in attack, very fast going forward, good in the air and set pieces,” added the frenchman at the press conference on Saturday.

Speaking about the hectic schedule, Birrol added, “I never complain. If I play every three days, it’s fine for me but for the players it’s difficult. As for the big teams, they have a lot of depth in the squad so it’s better for them. It’s tough for us because we have limited players and we have to uses them accordingly.”

Al Shahania are also in the drop zone with twelve points from fourteen games. The Oryxes will be looking to impress their new coach with a win against Muaither.

Igor Stimac, the head coach of Shahania, believes that this game is worth six points, “It’s worth six points for us, not three. I know my players and my team much better now. I see difference and discipline in the team. I told them there is no time to waste and I’m here to save the club from relegation. I am very happy with my players and the progress they have made.”

Speaking about the last game against Rayyan, Stimac added, “We needed a compact group of players to play on counter attack and finish quickly. There were too many players missing for us. The quality of Al Rayyan was too high us and we had 2 chances 1 on 1 with the keeper which we did not capitalize on.”

“Fahad was creating good chances and creating space. Now we have two more players who will help us in attack. I insist on possession, passing and creating many chances. I want us to play good football,” added the Croatian tactician.
