Al Ahli take on Al Sadd in the final game of round 15 of the QSL season. Ahli’s Qatari coach Yusef Adam spoke to the local media ahead of the Monday evening tie.
Adam opened up his press conference quick to note that Ahli are facing one of the best sides in the QSL. “Al Sadd are a strong team, but even if they have missing players they have the quality off the bench to make up for it. It will be a tough game but we are aiming to cause an upset.”
Al Sadd are without two key attackers heading into the game, but despite this Adam is wary of the quality the Wolves have. “Bagdad Bounjah and Hassan Haydoos will be a major loss for their side, but they have many more dangerous players from the bench, they have a young squad and plenty of players who can cause problems for us.
Adam ended the press conference stressing that his side is capable to cause an upset. “ The pressure is on Al Sadd to win, we know how to face them and my players have plenty of confidence. We are always looking to win, and we trust ourself to get the result that we need to help Al Ahli push up the table.”
As for Al Sadd they come into the tie off the back of a narrow win over Al Kharaitiyat. Portuguese head coach Jesaldo Ferriera spoke to the media ahead of the game.
“It was good to start the second round with a win, and now we will be without some key players in the coming games now. The match against Al Ahli will be tough but we always will have one aim to get three points and that will not change on Monday.”
For me the issue is over, at the time I was angry and i felt that Al Kharaitiyat’s players acted recklessly. However that is in the past now and we have to focus on the upcoming game” noted the Portuguese coach when asked about his dismissal to the stands in Al Sadd’s last match.
Ferriera ended his press conference praising the goal from defender Ibrahim to win the game. “It’s a special goal, Ibrahim is a good defender and he occasionally takes free kicks. That shot will not happen everytime, it certainly belongs on Youtube.”
