Round 19 of the QSL season kicks off with two matches on Thursday evening. The first match of the day could see Al Sadd head to the top of the QSL standings if they are able to defeat relegation threatened Al Shahania in the 16:35 KO at Al Sadd stadium.

Jesaldo Ferriera could welcome back the injured trio of Khalfan Ibrahim, Hassan Haydoos and Morteza Pouraliganji into first team contention for the game. Last time out, the Wolves comprehensively defeated top four chasing Al Gharafa 3-0 and will be aiming for yet another win to stack the pressure on title rivals Lekhiwya.

Whilst for Al Shahania they have yet to register a win under new coach Igor Štimac, a victory will be vital for Shahania to keep within touching distance of the sides just out of the QSL relegation zone. Last time out the Oryxes managed to secure a point with a 0-0 draw with Al Sailiya. Štimac’s side have now managed three draws in their last five QSL games and will be eager for a positive result against the title chasers.

Later on in the evening, El Jaish welcome Al Sailiya to Lekhwiya stadium in the 18:45 KO. It promises to be an interesting match for both sides, as they have swapped players this week ahead of the transfer window closing.  Jaish defenders Mohammed Jumaa and Rami Fayez and Wagner Ribero are likely to turn out for their new side Al Sailiya, likewise Sailiya duo Sayaf Al-Korbi and Majdi Siddiq could turn make their debuts for El Jaish.

Both sides have been struggling for form in recent weeks, and will be looking to register a moral boosting win to boost their respective campaigns.
