Muaither midfielder Nasser Al-Nassr grabbed his first goal in the QSL last weekend with a spectacular cross come shot to bamboozle Al Gharafa keeper Yusef Hassan. The on loan Umm Salal player has impressed so far during his season loan with the stallions, and that is why he is subject to being highlighted in our regular feature QSL talent, where we highlight the brightest young players plying their trade in the QSL this season. All of the statistics used in the story have been supplied by the Stats Company, the QSL’s official statistical partner.
Al-Nassr has enjoyed the majority of his game time from the bench this season; despite this the twenty-one year old has still caught the eye with his contributions when called upon by Phillipe Birol. So far Al-Nassr has clocked up 1002 minutes of game time at the club.
When called upon, Al-Nassr has made 22.9 passes per game with 84.5% of his passes being successful. This statistic is particularly telling when you consider that the bottom side in the league has been pushed back in the majority of the games they have played this season.
It’s no wonder that the young winger has then made a telling contribution by intercepting the ball for his side, with an average of 4.1 interceptions per game. Al-Nassr’s pace has also been a valuable asset for his side this season; with the speedy winger racking up 32 sprints per game as Muaither look to take their opponents on the counter.
Despite coming off the bench, often in the second half Al-Nassr has put in plenty of sprinting averaging 7.4km of running per game. Importantly the youngster is also making a telling contribution in attack averaging 0.9 crosses and dribbles per game, which is important in a side that has lacked in creating goal scoring chances this term.
So with a mixture of passing accuracy, defensive strength and sprinting ability has make Nasser Al-Nassr one to watch for Muaither over the course of the 2016/2017 season. The young winger will be hoping he can build on his form when Muaither take on Al Sadd a in the final match of the seventeenth round of QSL action.
