
QSL players from a host of sides have joined up with the Qatar national team ahead of two crunch qualification matches for Al Anabi against Iran and Uzbekistan.
Qatar are currently in the final round of qualification for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Head coach Daniel Carrando has called upon 22 QSL based players, with youngster Akram Afif of Sporting Gijon the only exception.
Lekhwiya lead the way with eleven players in the squad with the likes of Khalid Muftah, Ismael Mohammed and Karim Boudiaf likely to feature over the two ties. Al Sadd has six representatives including national team captain Hassan Haydoos and young defender Abdulkarim Hassan. Whilst QSL champions Al Rayyan have three call ups, including Rodrigo Tabata and Sebastian Soria.
Al Anabi will kick off their 2018 World Cup campaign on Thursday evening with a tough away assignment in Iran, after which they will return back to Doha to prepare for their match with Uzbekistan on the 6th of September.
