
Relegation is on line when Al Wakrah take on Al Ahli on Saturday evening, in the QSL spotlight match for round 16. Both established QSL sides are in danger of slipping into the Qatar Gas League, and are currently in the relegation places and are separated by three points.
Al Wakrah have been struggling all season new coach Kais Yâakoubi lifted the side initially, however one win in five game will be a source of concern to Al Wakrah fans and management. As for Al Ahli, they have a similar record as Al Wakrah having registered just one win in five QSL games. Qatari coach Yusef Adam will be earmarking the tie against Wakrah as a must win and will know that a win can see his side pull away from the relegation zone.
Last time out Ahli narrowly lost to title chasing Al Sadd 1-0. Despite the loss, Adam can draw plenty of posatives from the defeat and will be looking to improve with a win against Al Wakrah. The brigadeers have also been busy in the transfer window, so far confirming the signing of Ali Ferydoon from Al Shamal. The striker made his debut against Sadd and will be targeting a opening goal against Al Wakrah.
