
Saturday’s QSL action will see three games take place with all six sides taking part, looking to improve their fortunes during the second half of the season.
The first game of the day will see two sides that are towards the lower end of the QSL standings face off when Al Wakrah take on Al Ahli at home. Both sides have been struggling for form in recent weeks and a moral boosting win would lift spirits for the gruelling second half of the season ahead.
At the same time, fifth placed Al Gharafa will take on bottom of the table Muaither. The Cheetahs are just behind Al Rayyan in the standings, and the pressure will be on Pedro Caixina’s side to maintain pressure on the QSL champions with a win. As for bottom of the table, they are in desperate need for points to boost their survival chances they will be without leading scorer Alain Dioko for the match.
Round 16 of the QSL season comes to an end when Al Shahania welcome Umm Salal to Al Arabi stadium. The Oryxes will be targeting a win following their draw with relegation rivals Muaither last time out. As for Umm Salal they will be without key striker Yannick Sagbo for this crunch game.
