Saturdays QSL action will see two games between fierce rivals, who will be looking to improve their fortunes in the second half of the season.

The 16:25 KO at Al Ahli stadium is the QSL spotlight match when Al Ahli take on Al Arabi in a local derby. Both sides come into the tie off the back of big wins in round 16, and will be aiming to get one over their rivals pushing into mid-table security in the process.

The pressure has lifted of Ahli’s Qatari coach Yusef Adam following their 2-0 win over relegation rivals Al Wakrah. January signing Ali Ferydoon had a say in both goals in five first half minutes as the Brigadiers registered only their second win under Yusef Adam since he returned to the club. Adam will now be looking to mastermind back to back wins, against an Al Arabi side who have endured a stop-start season.

The second game of the day will see fourth placed Al Gharafa take on Al Shahania on Saturday evening.  The Oryxes new coach Igor Štimac has insisted that his side is “ready to win” and two draws in the last two games seems to suggest his side is moving in the right direction. They take on a Gharafa team who dropped points against Muaither last time out.
