QSL Saturday Preview

Round 18 of the QSL season comes to an end on Saturday with three games that could have consequences at both ends of the table.

Relegation is on the line when the two bottom sides in the league face-off when Al Wakrah take on relegation rivals Muaither. It’s a huge six pointer with for both sides, who have yet to register a win in the second half of the season. Wakrah come into the tie in slightly better form, after taking a point of current league leaders Lekhwiya in a pulsating 3-3 draw last time out. 

The second match of the day will see an in-form Al Rayyan side take on relegation threatened Al Kharaitiyat at Al Sadd stadium.  The current QSL champions are enjoying a good run of form in the league at the moment, and will be looking to build on their four game winning streak in the league. 

The final match of the day will see the current league leaders Lekhwiya take on Al Arabi in a tricky away match. Djamel Belmadi’s side are currently just three points clear at the top of the QSL standings, and will be targeting a win to maintain their advantage at the top. As for Al Arabi, they will be looking to grab their first win under new coach Osvaldo Olivera.
