
A number of QSL Sides have taken part in friendly matches as preparation ahead of the new season. Here we have rounded up some of the games which took place over the past week.
Al Duhail vs Hannover 96
Al Duhail took on German outfit Hannover 96 in their first ever match on Thursday. The Red Knights lost 4-2 in the friendly which took place in Austria. The German team scored two goals in the first 10 minutes and ended the first half at 2-0. The second half saw the third Hannover goal added early on. Then In the 73rd minute, last season’s top scorer, Yousef El Arabi reduced the deficit by scoring a goal and shortly after in the 83rd minute Korean star Nam Tae Hee scored the team's second goal. Al Duhail did its best to score the equalizer but the German team was able to score the fourth goal in the dying minutes of the game and the match ended by 4-2 in favour of Hannover 96.

Al Rayyan vs Braszen
Al Rayyan had a solid outing against German team Braszen as the Lions registered a 3-1 win in Germany. Michael Laudrup’s men took a small road trip from their training camp in Holland to play a friendly at the Braszen stadium. Qatari international striker Sebastian Soria scored a brace while youngster Abdulrahman Al Korbi added another to end the game at 3-1 in favour of the Lions.

Al Sadd vs Goztepe
The Qatar Cup and Emir Cup holders took on Turkish side Goztepe in a friendly encounter during their training camp in Austria on Thursday. The match ended up being a goal fest as a total of eight goals were scored in a four all draw. Jugurtha Hamroun, Baghdad Bounedjah, Hassan Haydos and Hassan Ahmed all got their names on the scoresheet in an intense match.
Al Gharafa vs Muaither
QSL side Al Gharafa beat second division team Muaither in a friendly match on the Thursday. The game ended 4-1 in favour of the Cheetahs as their new head coach Jean Fernandez makes himself accustomed with his new team.
Qatar SC vs Mesaimeer
The Kings played out a 2-2 draw against second division side Mesaimeer on Thursday in preparation for the upcoming QSL season. Under the guidance of new head coach Gabriel Calderon the team will now travel to Slovenia for the their pre-season training camp from Aug 9th to the 29th and are expected to play five friendlies while at the camp.
Umm Salal vs Al Shahaniya
QSL team Umm Salal defeated second division outfit Al Shahaniya 2-0 in a friendly match on Thursday. The Ibrahim Nadiya and Ismaeel Mohammed scored the goals as the Orange fortress continue their preparations ahead of the new season.
