The QSL have continued their preparations ahead of the new 2016/2017 season with the second media day. QSL online has grabbed some exclusive interviews with players from Al Khor, Al Shahania and Al Ahli to get their thoughts ahead of the big kick off on the 16th of September.



Iajour excited at Al Khor challenge

Al Khor striker Mouhcine Iajour believes it will be a big season for his Al Khor side: “The QSL new season will be very tough and competitive for all teams, every side will face big challenges over the season, but I believe after a strong preseason that Al Khor is ready for the new season.”

The Moroccan international added: “We will prove during the new season that our team deserve the best. Al Khor has a strong group of players and technical staff; we will strive to push up the table this season.”

Iajour also expressed his excitement at joining Al Khor, his third side in the QSL after previous spells with Al Ahli and Qatar SC “I consider joining Al Khor a new challenge for me, hoping to be up to that responsibility given to me by the club and the officials who put faith in signing me.”


Tiaïba eager to prove worth with Shahania

Al Shahania’s new signing Mohamed Tiaïba expressed his excitement at taking part in his first ever QSL season.  The Algerian striker who was recruited from RC Relizane believes he can improve over the course of the season.“Our aim as a team is to survive the QSL this season and stay away from the relegation zone.”

In terms of personal objectives the striker was eager to stress that he wanted to fire his side to safety; “My objective is to score lots of goals in order to aid my team during the long season. After all I am a striker and my task is to score goals.”

Shahania’s number 9 also indicated he is well aware of the QSL and have been following the last seasons events back home, concluding his interview he said: “I hope I could add to Shahania in attack this term and pay back the confidence entrusted in me by the club and team officials.”



 Qadri aiming for the top 4 with Ahli

Al Ahli midfielder Ali Qadri is expecting a competitive 2016/2017 QSL season. The Qatari midfielder recently signed a two year contract extension with the Brigadeers and expressed his hopes for his side at the recent QSL media day. “This season will be tough, with all sides expecting to progress and develop, we have had a good preseason at Al Ahli and I believe we are ready.”

Talking about the aims of Al Ahli this season, Qadri firmly believes his side can better their sixth placed finish and push for the Qatar Cup places. “We have to aim for the top four with Ahli, we have a strong group and the management are trying hard to bring in more players for this side.”

Concluding his interview with QSL online, Qadri stressed that Ahli’s focus this season will be the QSL. The season is long and hard, but we have to push for the league and do our best. I believe we have the right coaching team to achive our goals.”
