Al Shahania took on Al Sailiya in round eighteen of the Qatar Stars League at the Al Arabi stadium on Thursday. The match ended in a stalemate with both sides collecting a point after a goalless ninety minutes.

 Both teams tried their best to score throughout the match, however they could not convert their chances on goal. There were some easy chances which were not taken as well, with both defensive lines playing to their highest level to keep a clean sheet.

 Saliyah looked like they were going to open the scoring in the ninth minute after a shot by Temurkhuja Abdukholikov went wide. Just two minutes later, an attack by Al Shahania led to a cross which was received by Abdullah Al Yazidi from the left and his powerful shot hit the crossbar and went out of play. These two were the most telling chances of the first half which ended goal leass with Shahaniya enjoying majority possession.

In the second half there were some more wasted opportunities and both keepers were showing their class in front of goal unwilling to let anything pass. The game intensified in the final 10 minutes with both sides trying to snatch the three points. Both sides, despite their best efforts could not score and the match ended 0-0 with a each side taking a point from the game. The point takes Al Shahaniya’s tally to 15 points, and Sailiya now have 19 points.
