Lekhwiya head coach Djamel Belmadi has been awarded the QSL coach of the month award for April. The Algerian tactician picked up the award on Tuesday evening at Lekhwiya’s training ground.

The Red Knights remained undefeated in the month of April, as they surged to their fifth QSL falcon shield in seven seasons.  Decisive victories including a comprehensive 5-1 win over El Jaish and a 2-1 victory over Al Ahli ensured the QSL title for Lekhwiya, whilst the last game of the season saw a draw 2-2 with Al Shahania.

Now after picking up the QSL falcon shield, Belmadi’s boys will now turn their attentions to finishing strongly in the AFC Champions League were they have already qualified for the round of 16, along with looking to retain their Emir Cup that they won last season. The Red Knights are set to take on Al Khor in the fourth round of the competition on Thursday evening.
