Al Ahli coach Igor Biscan spoke to the media ahead of their 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League Week 4 match against Qatar SC.

“Al Ahli are looking forward to achieving our goal for the current season, which is to provide a distinguished level and obtain the largest number of points, especially in view of the strong competition between the clubs.

“Al Ahli players have the full ability to provide distinguished performance. The team played in the QSL Cup in the last stage when the league had a break and this had a positive impact on the physical performance of the players.

“Al Ahli players realize the difficulty of the matches in the league and that they will not be easy and that all teams have the desire to achieve victory and work to win points, but as a coach, I worked with my assistants to raise the level of performance and implement many technical matters in order for the team to be fully prepared for the next stage.

“Qatar SC are a distinguished team with distinguished players. They made many changes in their ranks by adding new players in addition to contracting with a new coach, which will have a great impact on the team’s form, making the match more difficult and stronger. But as a coach, I only focus on my team and work to make Al Ahli in our best physical and technical condition,” said Biscan.

Croatian defender Matej Mitrovic said, “After recovering from the injury I suffered, I am prepared to play with the team.

“I have found great co-operation in Al Ahli, but I suffered an injury that prevented me from participating with his fellow players in the past three rounds, but I have fully recovered from it and am now ready to participate with the team.

“I look forward to being an addition to the team’s defence this season and believe that Al Ahli, with technical capabilities and experience of p[layers, are capable of achieving a lot. I will make every effort to live up to the expectations of Al Ahli fans. The competition in the Qatar league is very strong.”
