Al Wakrah coach Miguel Angel spoke to the media ahead of their 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League Week 4 match against Al Duhail.

“The reason for the difference in preparations is that this match came after the international break, which witnessed the absence of some international players from training before they joined us again in the past hours.

“We are well aware that Al Duhail team has talented players in all departments, and is presenting very good levels so far in the league championship, and we are looking forward to this match because it represents a big challenge for us. Of course it also helps us know the extent of our readiness and the reality of our level.

“Al Wakrah are a big team and we realize that we have strong matches ahead of us in a short period. When you have a match every three days, this means that you have done something good, only the big teams have a busy schedule, this is a very good thing for us.

“Of course, there will be many challenges and difficulties that we will face during this period, but we have a large squad of players, and everyone is fully prepared, especially since we have included players who have few playing minutes in the QSL Cup. This is the most important thing because we always focus on preparing all players,” said Angel.

Al Wakrah player Tunisian star Aissa Laidouni said, “We are 100 per cent ready and we are well aware that it is a difficult match, and as for me, I returned to training two days ago and I finished the recovery process and became fully ready to play the match.

“I adapted well and quickly to the team and I know that I am able to adapt more than that, and I will give more on the field. In my opinion, this is something natural I joined this team about a month ago and I have great confidence in adapting step by step until I reach the highest levels of harmony with my colleagues on the field.”
