Al Arabi and Sharjah will face off in the inaugural Qatar-UAE Super Cup at the Al Thumama Stadium on Friday, April 12, 2024. The kick-off is at 7pm.

Al Arabi enter the match as champions of 51st Amir Cup and Sharjah as President’s Cup winners. Both teams aspire to win the tournament’s first edition that was announced in January.

Both sides aspire to win the coveted trophy and are capable of doing so, given the distinctive levels presented by them in addition to the desire, ambition and great potential of players on either ranks. Both also aspire to add a new trophy to their cabinet based on their past achievements over the years.

Last season witnessed Al Arabi winning the prestigious Amir Cup, which had been absent from their coffers for 30 years. Similarly, Sharjah were crowned champions of President’s Cup of the UAE.

Al Arabi have continued their intensive preparations for this match with high spirit and morale following their 4-2 victory over Al Wakrah in Week 20 of the 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League, increasing their tally to 26 points in fifth place. The Dream Team’s coach Younes Ali expects great performance from his wards against Sharjah.

Al Arabi are relying on a number of players, the most prominent of whom are Rafinha Alcantara, Yousef Msakni, Omar Al Somah, Abdullah Marafee, Ahmed Fathi, Jassim Jaber, Jassim Al Hail and Marco Verratti.

Sharjah are guided by Romanian Cosmin Olaroiu, who previously had coaching experience with Qatar’s Al Sadd. He knows a lot about Qatar football and their Arab rivals, and relies mainly on the likes of Othman Kamara, Moussa Marega, Caio Lucas Fernandez, Firas Balarabi and Adel Al Hosani.
