Al Markhiya face Al Rayyan in Round 3 (Group B) of the 2023-2024 season Ooredoo Cup on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at the Saoud Bin Abdulrahman Stadium of Al Wakrah club. The kick-off is at 8pm.

Al Gharafa, Al Duhail and Al Shamal are the other teams in the group, where Al Markhiya are leading with four points that they collected from their 2-0 win over Al Shamal in Round 2 and 3-3 draw against Al Gharafa in Round 1.

Al Rayyan are placed third with three points that they earned from their 1-0 victory over Al Gharafa in Round 2. The Lions were not in action in Round 1.

Reigning champions Al Duhail and Al Rayyan are equal on points and goal difference (+1), but the former are placed ahead (second) in the group having scored more number of goals (2 as against Al Rayyan’s 1).

Meanwhile, Al Markhiya will look to record their second victory and thus maintain the lead in the group in their bid to qualify for the quarterfinals.

It will also be an opportunity for Al Rayyan to register their second victory.

It may be noted that Al Rayyan had beaten Al Markhiya 1-0 in Week 1 of the 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League at the Al Janoub Stadium on 17th August.
