Al Ahli coach Nebojsa Jovovic spoke to the media ahead of their 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League Week 4 match against Al Rayyan.

“Al Rayyan, regardless of their results, remain a strong team with their capabilities. They are playing in their home ground and their fans will be present to encourage and support them, so the game will be tough by all standards.

“We know that Al Rayyan have not achieved any victory so far in the league, but that does not mean that we can beat them easily. We have to make every effort and do our best to win it. They are a strong team and losing the past matches does not mean that they are a weak team.

“Our players did well against Al Sadd in the last round. Even though we lost the match, we had many chances to score in the match. However, Al Sadd got the full points and they deserved it because they took advantage of their chances. We will work to improve the strength of the team and take advantage of the opportunities in the next match and in future,” said Nebojsa.

Al Ahli goalkeeper Yazan Naim said, “We have put behind the disappointment against Al Sadd and our focus now is on Al Rayyan.

“Al Rayyan are a great team, but we will make every effort to tackle them in a way that can help us win team. We have the desire to win. Al Rayyan are a tough team to beat but, as players, we focus on achieving victory with a distinguished level of performance. We trust in our coach’s strategy to correct mistakes.”
