Muaither scored a thrilling 3-2 comeback win over Al Markhiya to storm into the semifinals of 2025-2026 season QSL Cup at Suhaim Bin Hamad Stadium of Qatar SC on Wednesday.

Doing the star turn for Muaither was Spaniard Marc Saez, who scored a brace and also provided an assist to help his side overcome a 0-2 deficit late in the second half and achieve victory.

After Sahil Bashir (22nd minute) and Lucas Firmo (55th minute) had put Al Markhiya ahead, Saez struck in the 73rd and 81st minutes while captain Albert Luque scored the winner in 90+3 minute for Muaither.

Both teams had a goal each disallowed after VAR checks. In the 25th minute, Luque slotted home after Saez’s attempt had rebounded from the bottom of the left post, but a foul was spotted.

In the 32nd minute, the tall Naby Sarr, captain of Al Markhiya, headed home a corner kick, but it was disallowed for a foul.
