The 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League’s Week 4 fixtures, held over 22nd, 23rd and 24th August, 2022, saw thrilling action and a total of 12 goals being scored.

THE RESULTS

Al Markhiya lost to Al Duhail 0-1

Qatar SC lost to Al Wakrah     0-3

Al Rayyan lost to Al Ahli         1-2

Al Sadd lost to Al Gharafa       1-2

Umm Salal bt Al Sailiya 1-0

Al Shamal lost to Al Arabi       0-1

The round produced six victories and no draws.

Al Duhail, Al Wakrah, Umm Salal and Al Arabi all kept a clean sheet. The round saw four expulsions and three of them were in the Al Rayyan vs Al Ahli match. They are Saoud Al Hajri and Ali Malallah of Al Rayyan and Nikola Vucsevic of Al Ahli, and Rodrigo Tabata of Al Sadd during their match against Al Gharafa.

Three penalties were awarded, two of which were scored by Al Ahli defender Hussein Kanaani against Al Rayyan and Al Arabi forward Yousef Msakni against Al Shamal. Al Shamal’s Yacine Bammou missed the penalty.

Al Arabi maintained the top spot after beating Al Shamal 1-0. The fourth victory took their score to 12 points. Al Shamal are sixth with six points.

Al Wakrah are in second place with 10 points as they continued their strong performance and beat Qatar SC 3-0.

Al Duhail achieved their second victory this season when they beat Al Markhiya 1-0. They are now in fifth place with seven points. Al Markhiya are placed eighth with four points.

Al Gharafa’s 2-1 win over reigning champions Al Sadd saw them in fourth place, also with seven points. Al Sadd are seventh with four points.

Al Rayyan continued to lose when they went down fighting to Al Ahli 1-2. The Lions have to record a point and are placed last in the table. Al Ahli are in third position with seven points on better goal difference than Al Gharafa and Al Duhail, who both have the same number of points.

Umm Salal scored a thrilling 1-0 victory over Al Sailiya for their first victory this season. Umm Salal and Al Sailiya are placed 10th and 11th with four and three points respectively.

In terms of scorers, Al Wakrah forward Jacinto Dala continued to top the list with six goals after he scored a goal against Qatar SC. In second place are the trio of Ayman Hussein of Al Markhiya, Yazan Al Naimat of Al Ahli and Yousef Msakni of Al Arabi (all three goals).
