Al Sailiyah beat Qatar SC 8-0 in Round 5 (Group B) of the 2021-2022 season Ooredoo Cup match at Al Wakrah Stadium on Monday.
Ramin Rezaeian (5th minute), Mashaal Qassim Al-Shammari (10th minute), Fahad Khalfan Albulushi (30th minute, 47th minute and 65th minute) Mohammed Muddather (44th minute), Saad Al Sowan (77th minute) and M Saleh Elneel (85th minute) scored the goals for Al Sailiya.
It was Al Sailiyah’s first win in Ooredoo Cup this season as Qatar SC failed to add to their solitary win after four matches.
Al Sailiyah wasted little time in dominating the proceedings. A Sailiyah opened the scoring through Rezaeian in the 5th minute.
Al Shammari found Rezaeian with a long cross from near the half-line. Rezaeian tapped the ball and then flicked it into the net from close range giving Qatar SC keeper Motasem Majed Albustami little chance to block the move.
In the 10th minute, Al Sailiyah doubled their lead. Muddather found Al Shammari with a neat cross from the wing. Al Shammari, lurking on the right of Qatar SC goalmouth, tapped the ball and then slipped a shot past keeper Albustami with a left-footed drive from inside the box.
Exactly at the half-hour mark, Albulushi’s header off a corner kick taken by Rezaeian gave Al Sailiyah a 3-0 cushion. Rezaeian delivered a near-perfect corner kick and Albulushi jumped head for the deflection for his side’s third goal.
A minute before the close of the first half, Muddather scored Al Sailiya’s fourth goal to wrap up a convincing show by coach Sami Trebelsi. Muddather produced a long-range left-footed drive from outside the box for his superb goal.
Just two minutes into the second half, Albulushi scored his second of the match and his team’s fifth goal with a close-range tap after a cross from Muddather.
