Al Duhail coach Luis Castro spoke to the media ahead of their 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League Week 13 match against Al Arabi.

“A very important match awaits us against Al Arabi, which is one of the distinguished teams in the tournament. Their players and technical staff work well, and our match against them will be difficult because of the absences with which our team is going through, and these absences lead to instability in the squad, and we still have a chance. We are equipping the players and preparing them in order to win points.

“There are absences, but I believe in teamwork and the players who will be on the field will perform their work in all departments. We had many opportunities in the previous match, but we did not take advantage of them and we will work to correct all mistakes so that we can achieve results that help us compete for the league title.

“We suffered in our match against Al Arabi in the first leg. They are a good team playing in a distinguished style, and we know that they are  in a good position and want to move forward in the standings, but we will take the field in order to win,” said Castro.

Al Duhail player Toby Alderweireld said, “We faced Al Arabi in the first leg and we were able to beat them with difficulty, and the next match against them will not be easy, but we are ready to perform well and achieve the victory we want and get the full points of the match.

“In the Al Khor match, we conceded a goal and missed a lot of opportunities to score, unlike our match against Al Ahli, which we managed to take advantage of, and we came out with victory. But against Al Khor, we did not have luck.”
