Al Shahania coach Alvaro Mejia spoke to the media ahead of their 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League Week 7 match against Al Sadd.

“The Al Sadd match will be difficult and in the past period there were matches for the national team and we were keen to prepare ourselves for this important match against Al Sadd, which is considered one of the best teams in Qatar.

“The team is improving in level from one match to another, and is ready for the Al Sadd match.

“We had a player in his country’s national team Alhassan Corona, who played for Sierra Leone, so we will see how his physical condition will be and how ready he is for this match, and we must be ready and we will choose the appropriate 11 players for this match,” said Mejia.

Al Shahania player Francesco Antonucci said, “Al Sadd are a strong team and our team is ready for this difficult match in the Ooredoo Stars League. We played against Al Duhail in the previous round of the league and were very strong opponents and succeeded in achieving victory. The players took advantage of the break to prepare themselves for this important match.

“We will be up to the responsibility against Al Sadd and we are a team coming from the second division and everyone is working hard, and we in Al Shahania are one family and will be ready for Al Sadd.”
