Al Sadd will host Persepolis of Iran in the third round (West Zone) of 2024-2025 season AFC Champions League Elite at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium of Al Sadd club on Monday, October 21, 2024. The kick-off is at 7pm.

Al Sadd are competing in the AFC Champions League Elite as champions of 2023-2024 season Qatar league.

Al Sadd will aim to continue their fine start and achieve a second win in the continental championship. The Wolves opened their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Al Ain of the UAE before scoring a 2-0 win against Iranian club Esteghlal in the second round.

Al Sadd have four points and are in third place in the group placings, tied with the Al Nassr of Saudi Arabia, while Saudi Arabian sides Al Hilal and Al Ahli are in first and second place respectively with six points.

On the other hand, Iran’s Persepolis have a solitary point after they lost in the first round to Al Ahli of Saudi Arabia 0-1 and tied 1-1 in the second round with Pakhtakor of Uzbekistan.

Al Sadd showed good form by scoring a 4-2 win over Al Shahania in Week 7 of Ooredoo Stars League and it is certain that coach Felix Sanchez is working to prepare the team for the strong match against Persepolis.

The best eight clubs from each group (of 12 teams) will qualify for Round of 16, ahead of the knockouts, starting from the quarterfinals in Saudi Arabia from April 25 to May 4, 2025.
