Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium of Al Sadd club will host the match between Al Sadd and Muaither in Week 18 of the 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League on Friday, March 15, 2024. The kick-off is at 9.30pm.

Each team seeks to achieve victory and obtain the three points, especially since both teams are in dire need of victory.

Leaders Al Sadd enter the match in a state of great motivation in order to achieve victory and collect the maximum points, after failing to record a win in the last two matches against Al Gharafa and Al Arabi, tying the two matches at 2-2 respectively.

Al Sadd are on top of the standings with 37 points and are seeking to return to winning ways to distance themselves from other title contenders, including second-placed Al Gharafa with 34 points, Al Rayyan, third, with 32 points, and Al Wakrah, fourth, with 31 points.

On the other hand, Muaither enter the match in 11th and penultimate place with 11 points from two wins, nine losses, and five draws.

It is certain that Muaither are in a state of motivation and desire to achieve victory and obtain the three points as well to compensate for the loss of points in some past matches, the last of which was against Al Gharafa in Week 17, which ended 2-0 in favour of The Cheetahs.

Al Sadd, with their coach Wesam Rizik, enter the match with some absences, including goalkeeper Meshaal Barsham, Mateus Uribe, Pedro Miguel and Guilherme Torres due to injury, but they have strong players, most notably the competition’s top scorer Akram Afif, with 18 goals, shared equally with Al Gharafa’s Yacine Brahimi, along with Hassan Al Haydous, Baghdad Bounedjah, Gonzalo Plata and others.

Muaither, under coach Jorge Da Silva, will work to give off their best to record a positive result and will rely on the strength of their defence, especially after the joining of duo Hugo Gomes and Yazan Al Arab in the winter transfer period, in order to confront the danger and strength of Al Sadd’s attack.
