A total of eight players made their debuts for their new clubs during round 17 of the QSL season, here we look how they fared during the round.

Al Sailiya

Perigines coach Sami Trabelsi gave four debuts in Sailiya’s narrow 1-0 win over Umm Salal on Friday evening. Qatari striker Jaralla Al-Marri was joined by Romanian midfielder Valentin Lazăr and the Uzbeki duo of Sanjar Shaakhmedov & Temurkhuja Abdukholiqov. The gamble certainly paid off for the Tunisian coach as Temurkhuja Abdukholiqov showed plenty of composure to slot away the only goal of the game, in what could prove to be a vital three points in Sailiya’s relegation battle.



Al Ahli

Al Ahli ran out 4-2 winners in their derby encounter with Al Arabi, with two new signings getting involved in the action during the second half. Former Al Arabi midfielder Ahmed Maqsoud and Al Gharafa striker Yassine Chikhaoui , both picked up on loan till the end of the season came on as second half substitutes to aid Yusef Adams side against their local rivals.

Al Shahania

Al Shahania coach Igor Štimac gave a second half debut to Qatari striker Saoud Al-Khalaqi, who was picked up on a loan deal from Al Ahli. The striker was unable to make an impact however, as Al Shahania lost 3-0 to Al Gharafa on Saturday evening.

Muaither

Philippe Birol gave a debut to Ivorian striker N'Guessan Yessoh, who was signed on loan from Al Ahli during Muaither’s 6-1 defeat to Al Sadd on Sunday evening. Yessoh did manage to bag a stunning debut goal for his new side. However it proved to be too late for the Stallions, who are now rock bottom of the QSL standings.
