QSL side Lekhwiya have announced another injury set-back for forward Mohammed Muntari, with the Qatar international set for a six month spell on the sidelines after tearing a knee ligament.

The news will be a major blow for the Red Knights, who are lacking forward options following leading scorer Yusef El Arabi heading to the AFCON with Morocco. The club also confirmed that the player is set to travel to London for an operation in the next few days.

Muntari had just recovered from a previous long-term knee injury which saw him ruled out for the majority of the season. The Qatar international had just returned to full fitness and had scored in his sides 3-0 victory over Al Gharafa back in round 15.
