QSL side Al Ahli has confirmed that DR Congo international striker Firmin Mubele is set to leave the club to join French side Stade Rennais in Ligue 1. Mubele will now confirm all the necessary procedures for the transfer, after his national team was knocked out of the African Cup of Nations on Sunday at the hands of Ghana 2-1.

In other team news, Al Ahli has confirmed that central defender John Benson is set for a two month spell on the sidelines with a shoulder injury.  The player picked up the injury during his sides 1-0 win over Al Khor in round 18. The player has already undergone surgery for the injury at ASPETAR and was joined by team-mates and club management. The news will be a major blow for Coach Yusef Adam as Benson is considered one of the key players in defense for Al Ahli.
