El Jaish summer signing Seydou Keita believes that his new side have the squad to push on from their second placed finish last term to finally lift their first ever QSL title. The former FC Barcalona took some time out from a busy media day to have an exclusive interview with QSL online.

Keita opened up his interview by admitting that El Jaish’s head coach was decisive in securing the six month loan deal. “Sabri Lamouchi was the major factor in the move. He highlighted the ambitions of the team, and was clear the team wanted to push on. Every club I have played in has been successful and I wish to continue the same with El Jaish.”

Before moving to the QSL, Keita sought the advice from former team mate Xavi on the short term move. “I spoke with Xavi about coming to El Jaish, he told me that they are highly respected and are often fighting for trophies, this convinced me that this was the right move.”

Concluding the interview, Keita stressed that his new side have the capability to go all the way to lift their first falcon shield. “This group of players came close last season, I think that we have a good coach who is hungary to push on and achieve something with this side.”
El Jaish will open up their QSL campaign with a home match against Al Wakrah.
