Both El Jaish and Qatar Sports Clubs, third and fourth in the Qatar Stars League standing respectively, hope to achieve victory in their much anticipated exciting and tough confrontation this Friday evening in the semifinal of the Emir Cup.

El Jaish has never qualified for the semifinal before, whilst Qatar SC has managed to win the cup on two separate occasions.

Qatar SC qualified to this semifinal after defeating Al Shahania 4-1, whilst El Jaish knocked out Al Rayyan 5-1.

In accordance with the competition format, there must be a winner on Friday, and in the event of a tied result, both teams will go straight to penalties to determine the winner.

The winner will qualify for the final match and will play the winner from the other semifinal clash which sees Al Sadd take on Lekhwiya. The final itself is scheduled for the 23rd of May 2015 in the Thani Bin Jassim Stadium – the home of Al Gharafa Sports Club.

El Jaish’s squad is in fully fit with the only exception being goalkeeper Saoud Al-Khater who was injured during their match against Al Rayyan. El Jaish head coach Sabri Lamouchi will be relying on his key players Romarinho, Muntari, Majid Mohamed and Wagner.

As for Qatar Sports Club, they will have to do without the services of their Algerian defender Rafik Halliche due to his knee injury which he suffered during his team’s clash with Al-Shahania. Head coach Radhi Shenaishil has no other option therefore but to rely on Medhat Mustafa or Mohamed Salem in defense.

Apart from the injury to star defender Halliche, the rest of the squad is fully fit and will also have the league’s second top scorer -Hamdi Harboui.

Maher Omar, Fadl Youssef and both Korean players are fully fit too.
