Muaither striker Mahmoud Za'tara hopes that his team will competitive in the QSL this term. The Jordanian striker spoke to the QSL website in an exclusive interview at the annual QSL media day event.

The striker was the Qatar Gas Leagues top scorer last season and he reviled his excitement about the upcoming season. “This is my debut in the QSL and I hope I show my ability with Muaiter in this QSL season, it will be a big step up from the Qatar Gas League.”

After grabbing 20 goals last term with Muaither, the speedy attacker revealed his targets for the new season: “It is a tough ask, but my aim has to be the top scorer in the league. Many people believe that Asian professionals do not have the ability to score many goals in the QSL, I will change that this season.”

Commenting Muaiter’s ambitions for the season, and if they can beat relegation, he said: “We have huge ambitions for the league this season. I am well aware that it is difficult task to avoid relegation but it is not impossible. “

Mahmoud expressed his happiness for staying within his team especially after returning to the Qatar Stars League taking into consideration that he is the only professional player kept with the team since the previous season. He continued: “I am looking forward to satisfy the head coach Phillip Pirol who signed me from Al Wahdat Club in Jordan to join Muaither last year.”

He added: “We have to give are all in this new season which will tough for all teams. Muaither has the ability to perform well in the league.”

Commenting on the clubs preseason camp Zaatara said; “We had a strong external camp in Bosnia as we played four friendly games before returning to Doha to continue our preparations ahead of the new season.”

Muaither will start life in the QSL with a tough away fixture against Lekhwiya on Saturday the 17^th of September.
