
DOHA: Syrian attacking winger Mahmoud Al-Mawas has joined Qatar Stars League (QSL) side Umm Salal, it was confirmed on Monday.
The highly-rated 23-year-old has good speed and 'excellent ball skills', according to team officials.
Al-Mawas is expected to join the squad in a few days once he completes his medical on Tuesday, a club official said on Monday.
The winger has played for clubs in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
Meanwhile, Umm Salal striker Ismail Mahmoud has been released from a local hospital following rehab scans on his injured knee ligaments.
Mahmoud suffered the injury during one of Umm Salal's games in QSL. He is expected to resume training in the coming days.
Mahmoud is expected to play against Al Khor on January 3 in what would be a round 14 clash.
Umm Salal are in 7th spot in QSL points race.
