Al Wakrah have found their mojo after they won their last match by five goals to one. They will be looking to continue this performance against a tough opponent in El Jaish and hope to get out of the drop zone.
Kais Yakoubi, the head coach of Al Wakrah, spoke about the preparation over the break, “It was a short time as we gave four days off for players than we started preparation. We worked on our plan to face El Jaish. The next period will be tough and our target is to collect the maximum number of points.”
“El Jaish is a good team and they did a good job in the Champions League last year and were at the top of the league for a long time. They have not collected many points in the last four games so they needed the break. However, we were gaining momentum so the timing of the break wasn’t good,” added the Tunisian tactician.
Yakoubi said that he has a better understanding of his team now, “I noted that the response and reaction of the players is much better. That’s why the team is in better shape and giving better performances. But its is still not enough. After 6 weeks I know the possibility of the team and our main objective is to acquire the maximum number of points in order to be safe from relegation.”
El Jaish are third in the table with twenty-nine points must have benefited from the break period as their results in the past four were not up to standard. The Soldiers will be gunning for the win against the blue waves in order to keep their title hopes alive.
Sabri Lamouchi, the head coach of El Jaish is aware of the threat of Al Wakrah, “Wakrah is not the same team as the beginning of the season. They are a different team and different coach as well as a different playing style. So, we will face a difficult and different team than we faced before.
Speaking about last season’s joint top scorer Abderezzak Hamedallah, Lamouchi added “The situation is clear Abdurrazak is not ready to play as he is still unfit to play. We will keep Seidou Keita until the end of the season.”
“We take each game one at a time because we face a lot of problems and I hope they are behind us now. The first game of the second half of the league we will like to start in the best way with a win against Al Wakrah. The target is to try to play better and to win all the games and to give it the maximum effort,” added the Frenchman at the press conference on Tuesday.
