Al Khor takes on Umm Salal in round fourteen of the Qatar Stars league. The match will take place at the Al Khor Stadium on Tuesday.

Al Khor beat the Champions, Al Rayyan, in their last game and are ninth in the table with twelve points. The Knights will be looking to inch forward in the table with a win against Umm Salal.

Jean Fernandes, the head coach of AL Khor respects his opponents, “We have a lot of respect for Umm Salal. We have an obligation to play well and to win. The match has become more and more difficult that’s why we have to try our best to collect points.”

“Umm Salal didn’t lose easily and didn’t lose a lot of matches. They have players with strong presence on the field. After the Al Rayyan match our team regained full confidence but during the break we didn’t just work for the next game but for all games which are coming up,” added the Frenchman.

Speaking of upcoming transfers, Fernandez Added, “The club admin wants to reinforce the team with new players. The club is in negotiation with some players like Haitham from Shamal club. But we will not sign any new foreign players for now as Madison and Iajour will be back in the side.”

Umm Salal are currently seventh in the table with sixteen points from thirteen games. The Orange fortress will be looking to protect their position in the table with a positive result against Al Khor.

Mahmoud Jabber, the head coach of Umm Salal is happy with the team’s improvement over the break, “This my third game with the team. Now I had more time to work with the team and I used the break well. I hope we can end this match with a positive result. We are facing a strong team who are coming from a win against Rayyan. We will do our best after some games to be farther from the drop zone. So it’s important for us to play all the games well and not just the next one.”

“Both teams need to win that’s why it will be tough for both teams. It will be a tactical game. Players will look for result rather than performance and it will be one of the tough games of the season,” added the Egyptian tactician.

Speaking about possible changes in the team, Jabber added, “The difference in points is very close. We are middle of the table. We already have four foreign players but if in this period we find some better players the club administration might approach them and make some changes.”
