DOHA: Former Qatar Stars League (QSL) champions Al Gharafa beat Al Markhiya 5-0 in a friendly played to test the players' fitness ahead of the new season.
The new QSL season kicks off on September 15.
The friendly was played following a training camp in Lisbon, Portugal, the club announced.
The goals were scored by Hungary import Nemeth (2 goals), Anas Mubarak and Abdul Aziz as Al Gharafa players got a decent workout.
Al Gharafa will continue training in Doha ahead of the season-opening clash next month.
The former QSL champions will play another friendly on August 23 against the Qatar national side at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium.
The club said the players are scheduled to resume training on Monday.
