Al Gharafa climbed to fourth place in the Qatar Stars League with a 3-0 win of Al Shahaniya in a one-sided match yesterday night at the Thani bin Jassim stadium.
The boys in yellow scored their goals in the first half for their fourth victory in eight matches which took their overal tally to 14 points in the league standings.
Al Gharafa struck their first goal through forward Lisandro Lopez on 13 minutes. The Argentine getting his second goal of the season.
Then Brazilian winger Nene and Qatari Moayed Hassan buried the game with goals in the 31st and 45th minute respectively to complete a nice day’s work for the Cheetahs.
Although Al Shahaniya improved dramatically in the second half and didn’t concede any more goals, they could not find a way to put the ball in their opponents net!
Al Sadd is now leading the race with 19 points followed by Lekhwiya and El Jaish with 18 and 15 respectively.
