QSL side Al Gharafa has formally announced that Sheikh Jassim bin Thamer Al Thani will be the president for the club till 2020. The decision was made at the clubs annual general assembly, following the announcement that previous president Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Thani decided not to stand for a new term as president.

Opening the general assembly general secretary Jassem Al  Mansouri welcomed Jassim bin Thamer Al Thani to the club. “I would like to welcome our new president to Al Gharafa and hope that we can build on the success of our previous president.”

Speaking at the nomination, Sheikh Jassim bin Thamer Al Thani said; “I would like to thank the outgoing president for his work over the years with this club, he has significantly contributed to the success of Gharafa.”

With matters now confirmed at boardroom level the club will now focus ahead of the start of the QSL season on the 15^th of September.
