QSL side Al Ahli continued their friendly preperations ahead of the 2016/2017 QSL season, losing to Saudi side Al Taawoun 2-1 in a friendly match on Sunday evening.All three goals came in the first half, with Taawoun taking the lead through Ahmed Zein on the 5th minute. Al Ahli got back into the tie on the 20th minute from the penalty spot from Iranian international Mojtaba Jabbari. Taawoun grabbed the winner just ten minutes later courtisey of Musa Al Shammari.
Despite the defeat, the friendly will be seen as important preparation of new head coach Luka Bonačić. The QSL season is set to start on the 16th of September.
