The Moroccan hit-man has struck on 24 occasions this season, whilst assisting his team-mates on five occasions. El Arabi’s goal scoring feat is all the more impressive considering that he only played 18 times for Lekhwiya, and missed a large part of the season whilst at the African Cup of Nations.
Right behind El Arabi is Al Sadd attacker Bagdad Bounjah who registered 23 goals in 20 starts for the Wolves. Bounjah also thrived in his first full season in the QSL, and also contributed 7 assists for his team over the course of the campaign.
Last season’s joint top goal scorer Rodrigo Tabata came in at third place in the rankings after the Al Rayyan captain scored 20 goals in 24 starts for the Lions who failed to retain the QSL title that they won last season. As ever Tabata was at the center of everything good in the Rayyan attack this season.
Umm Salal striker Yannick Sagbo came in at fourth in the leading scorers with a fine individual season for the Orange Fortress. The big Ivorian striker found the back of the net on 15 occasions for his side, whilst registering 2 assists for team-mates.
Lekhwiya’s number 10 Nam Tae Hee along with the El Jaish duo of Romarinho and Sardor Rashidov all registered 14 goals for this season for their sides. All three players will be hoping to fire their respective sides to glory in the Qatar Cup.
Al Rayyan’s Spanish attacker Sergio Garcia and relegated Al Wakrah midfielder Mouhcine Moutouali both scored 11 times this season. Garcia scored his goals in 25 league games and registered 10 assists, whilst Moutouali scored in 24 games and assisted his side on 4 occasions.
Finally Al Sadd’s captain Xavi registered his highest ever league tally in his career, as he helped the Wolves to a second place finish. The Midfielder scored 10 times for Al Sadd and represented his side in all 26 league games this season.
