Al Kharitiyat can count themselves lucky, barely surviving the drop to stay in the QSL this term. Al Kharitiyat registered 27 points, including seven wins and six draws. They survived the drop on goal difference on the final game of the season.

Al Kharitiyat scored the eighth most goals in the QSL with 38, an impressive feat for an relegation threatened side. Defensively Al Kharitiyat leaked goals, conceding 47 the third highest in the league. The defensive frailties are also underlined by conceding 18 goals from set pieces this term, the joint highest in the league with relegated Qatar SC.

Whilst defensively poor, it seems that Kharitiyat struggled to keep the ball at times this term. On average the Thunders pass completion rate was 78% over the season. This was the lowest in the league, and the only side to go below 80% overall.

Al Kharitiyat striker Yahia Kebe was the Thunders stand out player.  His 18 goals single handedly saved Kharitiyat this term, and the striker ended up as the second highest goal scorer in the league this season. Not only did the big man from Burkina Faso score goals, but he was also the hardest worker in the side, clocking up an impressive 27.3km of high intensity running over the course of the season.

Another player who had an impact for Al Kharitiyat was defender Mahmood Saad. The left back stood our as a star performer in a side that leaked goals. Saad lead the way in terms of passes over the season with 924, along with covering the most ground for his side over the season with 272km overall. The defender was a constant threat from his left back position and had the most assists for his team with 6 over the course of the season.

After barely surviving the QSL this term, Al Kharitiyat will now begin to prepare for the upcoming QSL season which will kick off on the 15th of September.
