El Jaish Sports Club Head coach Sabri Lamouchi said that the team’s win over Qatar Sports Club to reach the final game of Emir Cup was very important for the team.

He also said that reaching the final was a huge accomplishment for El Jaish, noting that it will be their first appearance in the Emir Cup final.

He added: “The clash against Qatar Sports Club was very difficult as we found it hard to break them down and get the win especially with the quality performance provided by Qatar’s offense in particular their deadly striker Hamdi Harboui.”

Lamouchi pointed out that his team showed great patience in their build up play when reaching their opponent’s goal. He said: “We made some mistakes with regards to finishing in front of the goal but eventually we succeeded and got the win.”

From his side, Qatar Sports Club Head Coach Radhi Shenaishil said that he would like to congratulate his players for their efforts despite the loss against El Jaish.

He added: “El Jaish stole the win especially since we scored in the final moments of the game.”

He continued by saying: “My team demonstrated a good performance with regards to the parameters of the team’s abilities and we deserved to win.”

The Iraqi head coach announced that Qatar Sports Club Administration spoke with him about the possibility to continue with the team during the next season, and he said: “We have agreed on some important points for the coming season regarding the players and we will meet again with the Club’s Board to settle all other matters.”

He assured that each and every player whether local or foreign will be assessed and evaluated before the start of the new season.
