Brazilian Andre Lima, who is in charge of Al Khor following the departure of Omar Najhi, spoke to the media ahead of their 2019-20 QNB Stars League Week 21 match against Al Duhail.

“Our preparations went off well. We must admit that we are facing a team that is considered as the best in the league and they have the advantage. However, they will find it difficult against a team that wants three points to avoid relegation.

“I think the task will not be easy for Al Duhail because we are in a precarious position. It is not good for us to play against a team like Al Duhail at this stage, but I am optimistic.

“We have seen that the favourites may not win in all matches and I trust Al Khor players. They will do their best to get a positive result against Al Duhail. We were close to getting full points against Al Gharafa in the last round, but for conceding a late goal.

“Al Gharafa are a strong team and are among the top four in the league, so what we got is a positive result (2-2 draw). The performance of our players gave us the confidence that we are on the right path to get positive results in the last two games,” said Andre Lima.

Al Khor player Atef Mohammed said, “We had begun our preparations for the Al Duhail match soon after our game against Al Gharafa. We will focus a lot and the team will be ready for the match, and we seek victory. We take it match by match at this stage and now think only about Al Duhail.”
