Al Ahli coach Nebojsa Jovovic spoke to the media ahead of their 2019-20 QNB Stars League Week 22 match against Al Duhail.
“All matches in the last round of the league are difficult, we will focus only on our team without thinking about the matches of other teams. The competition is now strong for the title and also to avoid relegation.
“Al Duhail match will not be easy, the opponents are strong and have many standout players. They are known for their team work. But we are able to provide our best and register a victory regardless of the difference between us and the opponents. I trust my team and players.
“We will miss Tunisian Ahmed Akaichi, who received a red card in the last round. His absence will be felt. At the same time, I am confident that other players will compensate for it. Matches in the last round of the league are like cup finals because each team fights for a target.
“I told my players the need to preserve the team’s form and style regardless of the problems in matches. We have a problem with scoring goals despite creating opportunities. Since the league’s resumption with Week 18, we have not got desired results,” said Jovovic.
