Al Shahania coach Nabil Anwar spoke to the media ahead of their 2019-20 QNB Stars League Week 21 match against Al Rayyan.
“Very difficult and crucial game against Al Rayyan. Crucial for both teams in terms of standings. Al Rayyan were able to reduce the difference in points between them and Al Duhail to just one point after their victory over Al Sailiya last week. It is against this backdrop that we are facing them.
“They will play against us as a final match and the same applies to us, as we are struggling to get ahead of Al Khor and Umm Salal to avoid relegation.
“After our game against Qatar SC in the last round, we watched videos of Al Rayyan’s recent matches with Al Sailiya and Al Arabi. Al Rayyan are one of the best teams that play beautiful football this season.
“I do not agree with the opinion that Al Rayyan is only about (Yacine) Brahimi. They have other good names such as Abdulaziz Hatem, Franck Kom, Hamed Ismail and Sebastian Soria.
“Just as Al Rayyan have the desire to win, Al Shahania have the same desire and we need points more than the competitor,” said Nabil.
“Al Shahania player Abdullah Khaled said, “The players got enough rest after facing Qatar SC and we went through maximum preparations ahead of the match against Al Rayyan. Our coach knows the strengths and weaknesses of them and we will be 100 per cent ready especially because this is a decisive match.”
