Khor & Kharaitiyat share spoils in hard-fought clash
 
A second-half goal on Thursday helped Al Kharaitiyat hold hosts Al Khor to a 1-1 draw in a round-four clash of the Qatar Stars League (QSL).Abdulrahman Mohsen opened the scoring for Al Khor in the 35th minute but Al Kharaitiyat managed  to fight back and grab an equaliser through D.R Congo attacker Jeremy Bokila on the 61st minute.
 
Al Khor, who enjoyed more of the possession in the first 30 minutes of the game, brought the game to life with deft moves near Al Kharaitiyat box soon after the half-hour mark.In the 32nd minute, Al Khor's Moroccan striker Mouhcine Iajour charged with the ball into Al Kharaitiyat box but defender Domingos slipped in a neat tackle clear the ball away from his own goal-line.
 
With both teams struggling to break each other down, the tie threatened to boil over at times. Al Kharaitiyat's Jeremy Bokila brought down Al Khor's Musba Al Majeed with an extremely rough tackle in the 33rd minute, which caused a fight between the two groups of players.
 
In the 35th minute, Al Khor drew first blood with a bit of flair on home soil. A supercharged Iajour  broke free of his marker on the left flank before advancing towards the Al Khairaitiyat box despite being shadowed by a couple of defenders.Close to Al Kharaitiyat box, Iajour spotted an unmarked Mohsen and slipped the ball to the 25-year-old defender.


 
Mohsen, without wasting time, curled in a beautifully taken first-time shot which  beat Al Kharaitiyat goalkeeper Ahmed Soufiane with ease. The ball swung in late before hitting the net to give Al Khor the lead with 10 minutes to go in the first half.
 
Making the most of a goalkeeper's gaffe in the second half, Bokila produced the equaliser for Al Kharaitiyat at the hour-mark. Al Khor goalkeeper Baba Djibril failed to pouch a long-range shot that ducked into his own box, resulting in an ill-timed fumble. Bokila quickly took advantage of the mistake and tapped the ball into the net to give the visitors the equaliser.

Shahania grab injury time equalizer against Al Gharafa
 
An injury-time penalty helped newcomers Al Shahania grab a point against former champions Al Gharafa in thrilling QSL encounter. Algerian midfielder Kaled Gourmi dispatched an injury time penalty, sending Al Gharafa goalkeeper Yousef Hassan the wrong way as Al Shahania emerged with a creditable 1-1 draw. Earlier, striker Mohammed Razzaq curled in an effort from inside the box as Al Gharafa took the lead in the 79th minute.


 
After a cagey start, Al Gharafa on Thursday picked up a bit of momentum in the 20th minute when Johnson Kendrick launched a fierce drive from close range but his powerful shot was quickly blocked by Al S Shahania goalkeeper Khalifa Al-Dosari.Gharafa upped the ante with a series of attacks however the Shahania back-line remained resolute to thwart the attacks.
 
In the 35th minute, Al Gharafa's Hungaian striker Krisztián Németh swivelled and tried to deflect the ball from close range but Shahania midfielder Abdullah Al-Yazidi blocked the ball with a swift challenge.
With Qatar national team coach Jorge Fossati watching the proceedings from the stands, Al Shahania managed to walk off the pitch with a credible 0-0 draw at half time.
 
In the early minutes of the second half, Al Gharafa's Almahdi Ali produced a couple of snap-headers in the space of few seconds but on each occasion Al Shahania goalkeeper Al-Dosari retained his composure to keep his slate clean.In the 64th minute, Shahania midfielder Kaled Gourmi unleashed a powerful shot from the edge of Al Gharafa box but his shot was deflected by a time sliding effort by  new signing Rashid Sumaila.
 
In the 79th minute, Al Gharafa broke the deadlock with a neat effort by Razzaq.The ever reliable Al Gharafa striker picked up a rebound inside the Al Shahaniya box and clipped the ball above the goalkeeper's head for a slick finish to the attack.
 
Not to be denied Shahania where awarded a penalty in stoppage time. Kaled Gourmi stepped up and kept his nerve to slot away the spot kick to give the Oryxes a precious point against Al Gharafa.
