Title holders Umm Salal will lock horns with Al Rayyan in the fourth and concluding quarterfinal of 2024-2025 season QSL Cup at the Grand Hamad Stadium of Al Arabi club on Saturday, November 16, 2024. The kick-off is at 7.30pm.
Umm Salal’s French coach Patrice Carteron is counting on his star Antonio Mance, the tournament’s top-scorer with four goals, to rattle Al Rayyan's net yet again and lead The Orange Fortress into the semifinals for an encore of what he did last season when he led the side into the final and to eventually win the title.
Meanwhile, Al Rayyan coach Younes Ali is hoping for his team to succeed by presenting a strong challenge, and for his players to be at their best ahead of the resumption of league championship. Particularly, after the team’s results improved as they achieved their first victory in AFC Champions League Elite against Pakhtakor of Uzbekistan in the fourth round.
Al Rayyan qualified for the quarterfinals as the third-placed team in Group A with seven points, with a goal difference over Al Ahli (fourth).
Umm Salal succeeded in qualifying as runners-up in Group B, behind Al Wakrah, with six points and ahead of Al Shamal (third) on goal difference.
Both Umm Salal and Al Arabi have many aces in defence and attack, which will provide a very exciting and competitive clash.
